Cooking Matters at the Store Implementation
Share Our Strength is excited to announce its offering of Cooking Matters at the Store mini-grants to partners desiring to connect families with the skills they need to maximize their food dollars. Cooking Matters at the Store is an interactive grocery store tour that offers families tips and tricks for healthy eating on a budget. Smart shopping techniques like comparing unit prices, identifying whole grain products, and buying fruits and vegetables on a limited budget are shared during the tours.

Implementation is simple – Share Our Strength provides online training to grant recipients as well as curriculum materials for participants. Cooking Matters at the Store is a program of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign. Learn more at www.nokidhungry.org. Cooking Matters at the Store is generously sponsored by the Walmart Foundation.
The minimum grant amount you may request is $1,000.00 to reach 100 participants, and there is no maximum grant amount for which you may apply. Grant amounts are determined based on the number of participants you expect to reach, at a level of up to $10/participant. So, for example, if you plan to reach a total of 300 participants (through multiple tours), you may apply for a grant of up to $3,000. If you have a request that includes items outside this general funding please email grants@strength.org.
